Job overview

  • Ensure the smooth functioning of the Treasury Department including Risk Management, Treasury Investment, Foreign Exchange, Taxation, Reporting and Payments. Assist the Management in preparing budget and business plans for the Bank, and in promotion and development of products and service offerings of the Bank.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate and review work requirements and performance of the Treasury department with the aim of meeting the plans and objectives of the Bank.
  • Assist the Management in the formulation and implementation of budget and business plan for achievement of Bank targets.
  • Assist the Management in monitoring risks for all business aspects of the Bank including banking services, credit, regulatory compliances, finance and treasury.
  • Be responsible for treasury management for the whole Bank.
  • Ensure sufficient funds in our NOSTRO accounts to fulfil any fund requirement by respective departments and to ensure qualitative usage of funds overseas.
  • Review all payments requested by respective departments before submitting to Management for approval.
  • Coordinate and closely monitor compliance with NBC Chart of Accounts and other rules and regulations.
  • Be responsible for Foreign Exchange function for the whole Bank including Foreign Exchange deals with customers, generating counter rates for internal usage and maintaining Foreign Exchange rates in the system.
  • Be responsible for financial reports for both internal and external parties.
  • Review monthly and yearly tax returns for submission to the Tax Department and other tax-related areas.
  • Effectively promote products and services that could enhance the Bank’s business and corporate image.
  • Cross sell the Bank’s range of financial products and services.
  • Coordinate and monitor prompt submission of all specified periodical reports/returns required by the Head Office and statutory bodies.
  • Gather information through survey from customers and update information on other Banks’ products/services with plans to further enhance our competitiveness and improve our customer service.
  • Attend to queries from branches, NBC, auditors and other regulators.
  • Liaise directly with CFO to resolve problems and difficulties encountered on customer service and complaints.
  • Communicate clearly the guidelines, procedures and standards of performance for the staff of the Treasury department to ensure group satisfaction and stimulate staff achievements.
  • Review, plan and provide organizational structure to the Treasury department, ensuring proper delegation of authority, coordination of work and optimum utilization of staff.
  • Fairly and regularly evaluate reports on performance of staff to the Head Office and communicate to the staff the result of their performance.
  • Ensure proper training of staff for achievement of high standards of performance and competency of staff in the department.
  • Keep CFO updated and informed of any suggestions for improvement, resource requirements, the need for training and problems encountered.
  • Perform other jobs assigned by the Supervisors.

Capabilities and experience

  • Minimum bachelor degree in Business Administration with concentration in Finance, Accounting, and Banking;
  • At least 5 years experiences in Treasury operations and management;
  • Knowledge and experience with sales of banking service & products;
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Offices (Word, Excel, Power point), and Core Banking System;
  • Strong organizational skills, client-focused, relationship-building behaviors;
  • Strong communication in English.
